We Did It.

Well we finally did it, we bought a house. The kids are excited, Mariah will finally have her own room. I need to find all of my stuff that is scattered throughout Sherry's house. All rooms need painted but that should be easy without the furniture.

I do have to make new curtains. The front window is at lease 12inch bigger than Sherry's window. That works out great because I have an extra window in the living room.

Thomas' First T-Ball Game

It is T-ball season and all is busy around the Kolster house.

He practices 3 times a week and from now until the middle of June he will have 13 games.

His first game was on Tuesday. Originally it was supposed to be last Saturday but we were snowed out. This Saturday they get to do the Opening day parade, better late then ever.

Thomas seems to be really enjoying it. Mariah soccer somethine in May and I am just itchen to get my garden going. If the weather would only cooperate.

Thomas' 6th Birthday

Thomas lucked out this year and didn't have to go to school on his birthday. Kindergarten conferences were going on yesterday and today. He now knows all of his ABC's and beginning word sound. We are now working on his sight words and ending word sounds. He has come a long way since the beginning of the school year.
Thomas requested that I make him a race car cake with his favorite NA SCAR on it, so I did my best. I hate making black frosting, it gets everywhere. Thomas had a good birthday, and chose to spend the night over at his friend Harley's house. I am not sure when he will be home today.

Mariah is doing well in school, especially in her math and science areas. They are working on maps, plotting, and itineraries. She seems very excited about this.

JT is up for another promotion at work, making him a machine operator instead of an assistant. He seems to really enjoy working where he is working, but hating mandatory overtime. There seems to be a lot of that lately.

I am still working hard, and keeping everything flowing. Although I am soooo looking forward to the freedom of the upcoming vacation. Last weekend I went to a car dealership to see if I would qualify to by a newer used car and I did. I was waiting to hear back from that, when Sherry went to see if we could refinance the house. Well, lets say that I qualified to purchase the house from Sherry, and get a fixed rate mortgage. I am waiting to hear back from the Mortgage guy after he gets the 'good faith' paperwork sent over to him. Then I will find out how much the appraisal will cost, and we can move forward. I am so excited.
I guess you can say things have been busy. We are still very cold outside. The weather keeps teasing us. It gets above freezing for a day or two them it dips back down to the teens. Oh well, winter is almost over, and garden season is almost here. Yeah!

Bitterly Cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy did I not do my home work. I can't believe how cold, cold can be.
Right now the temperature outside is -8 and the wind chill makes it feel like -29. We are supposed to bottom out at -14 with the wind chill being. -40. Tomorrow high a whopping -1.

This is stupid cold. Why did I move out here in the first place? Don't answer that.

Found out in the Cold

I came home from work on Sunday, to news that a kitten was spotted out around the van and trash can. We set out some food and waited. We could hear it crying from under the van, then under the trailer. From the sounds of its cries it was very young. I set out a can a tuna and waited. I checked several times, finally around 7:00pm I got a glimpse of it. It took almost an hour but I was able to capture it in a large fishing net.

I took it to the vet yesterday and it has a clean bill of health, minus a case of round worms which is to be expected. The vet said it is a 10 week old male Persian cross and has been outside for quite a while, due to how thick his coat is. Well, need less to say we have an addition to the family, and JT has a new buddy. We have named him Rascal.

Christmas Snow

This year we had snow on the ground before Christmas. The weatherman predicted that we would get a dusting of snow for Christmas day. That turned into 4-6 inches of dust. I can't complain because it made for a beautiful landscape.
We have three steps going to the front door. I can only see 2.

Throughout the whole front yard we have many tracks just like these. I just hope these rabbits don't invade my garden come spring. This is from a large spruce in the front yard,

The latest forcast is that we will be getting more snow tomorrow, but less then 1 inch. We will see. This month alone we have recieved 17.5 inches of snow so far. Oh well I guess that is what I deserve for moving to Minnesota.

T'was the Night Before Christmas

Thomas, Mariah, and Esperanza all huddle around the Christmas tree to listen to the phone call from Santa. Every year Dad calls poised as Santa. I talk to him ahead of time to give him a list of items each kid is getting for Christmas, each kid gets a hint of what they will see the next morning under the tree. (Mariah plays along)
Mom has started her own tradition of sending Gingerbread house. This year Mariah is finding out how hard it can be to squize frosting out of a tube. ( I put the frosting into a decorator bag with a tip)Looks like she did get the hang of it afterall. Hey, Look!! They are working together, and nobody is getting hurt. We must all mark our calendars.
Finished and decorated by the kids. Front View

Side ViewOther Side.

After bathing and putting on their New Pajamas they are ready for bed.Well, I guess all good things must come to an end. Thank goodness they have separate rooms. As it is I am still waiting for them to go to sleep and it has been over an hour.

Merry Christmas.
